Leaders from Trans Nzoia in Ford Kenya party have criticized COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, over alleged interference with the affairs of the party. The leaders, led by deputy secretary general of the party in Trans Nzoia County Jackson Muganda said the COTU boss is sponsoring some leaders within the party to undermine the leadership of their party leader Moses Wetangula.
They argued that as a leader from the Luhya nation, Atwoli needs to bring together all leaders in the region who have shown the intention of vying for the top seat. They are perturbed that he is leaning towards Musalia Mudavadi as his preferred candidate.
The leaders said they have no confidence in Atwoli’s leadership style, labeling him as a leader who can’t bring other leaders together.
They, however, promised to work together with their party leader to make sure he ascends to power.
The leaders also criticized Deputy President William Ruto, citing his attacks against Moses Wetangula. They said he has undermined Wetangula, by saying he has a lot of problems to solve at home and he is incapable of leading the country.
“Ruto has accused our leader as someone with a lot of problems to solve back at home. But it’s him who has the problems, corruption problems in the Jubilee government,” said Wanambisi, the organizing secretary of Ford Kenya party in Kiminini Sub County.
The party also held elections and some leaders who had departed were replaced. Among the leaders replaced was the Vice Chairman of the party in the County Albert Gumo who was replaced with an aspiring MP for Endebess constituency Paul Moiben.
Kwanza Sub County chairman Peter Puuka said the main intention of filling the posts was because of the upcoming general elections. They said Governor Patrick Khaemba was not being involved with the activities of the party in the County, as they called on him to appreciate leaders from the County and employ a good working formula with them to steer the party ahead.
