The Ford Kenya party leadership will remain as it is until the Registrar of Political Parties goes through documents submitted by two opposing factions seeking total control of the party, according to the acting Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu. On Tuesday, leaders supporting Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula submitted their documents to the Registrar offices, same to party Secretary General David Eseli and Wafula Wamunyinyi.
Speaking afterwards, MP Wamalwa wondered why those who’ve claimed to be the party’s new leaders are still operating from hotels and not the party’s headquarters. “Our party is aware of other former officious who are masquerading as party officials yet they hold no such positions,” he added.
On the other hand, Eseli said they are trying to wrest the party away from cartels, and faulted Wetangula for exhibiting poor leadership. On his part, Wamunyinyi said once their documents are verified by the Registrar of Political they’ll move into the party headquarters, “The former party leader will be coming there to visit as an ordinary member of the party,” he said.
