Ford Kenya party in Trans Nzoia county aligned to party leader Moses Wetangula has moved to replace it’s officials whom they claimed were rebels in the party. The replacement comes following accusations from Wetangula supporters claiming ousted members were aligned to Kanduyi Mp Wafula Wamunyinyi and Tongarens Secretary General of the party Dr.Eseli Simiyu.
Ford Kenya party has had various issues last year with Wamunyinyi Eseli faction plotting a coup against Wetangula replacing him with Wamunyinyi but Wetangula moved to court that ruled status quo to have Wetangula remain being party leader while Eseli Secretary General.
Among the ousted members of the party include Patrick Simiyu was Secretary General of the party in Trans Nzoia county, replaced by Joseph Pepela, Kwanza’s vocal chair Peter Wangwe Puka was replaced by John Mambo, Saboti chair Anthony Sikulu replaced by Mung’oma, Kiminini Zechariah Simiyu, Endebess Sifuna Khakila and Cherangany Nicodemus Milimo.
However Kapomboi MCA Benard Wanjala Mlipuko appealed to the party leadership to be cautious in handling such matter claiming it might ruin and disintegrate farther the party. He appealed to leaders to look for rebel leaders and bring them back to the party so that they move together as a party claims that were rubbished by Kiminini Mp Dr.Chris Wamalwa.
Dr. Wamalwa noted that ousted members were the ones rocking the boat from within and it was wise for them to have a few members loyal to the party than more members whose their agenda was to pull other leaders behind. He went ahead in reading the names of those leaders that replaced others before Wetangula declaring that they will hold offices as interim leaders before elections is called to pave officially elect leaders.
On his part, party leader Moses Wetangula stated that the party will soon start registering new members of the party claiming several members have left the party and their allegiance was in other parties and leaders. It was necessary for the party to recruit loyal members of the party as well as hold NDC where delegates across the country will converge in Nairobi to ratify the lists of elected leaders.
He however called upon Trans Nzoia county chair who is also kwanza Mp Ferdindna Wanyonyi to make haste and reach out to suspended leaders to remain in the party claiming if they are left out the party might not move together.
The meeting was attended by Three MCAs of Ford Kenya, one elected for Kapomboi Ben Wanjala Mlipuko and two nominated Rodgers Barasa and Margaret Wanjala with other 10 Ford Kenya MCAS absconding the meeting which was mostly attended by Bungoma MCAS.
