Leaders are coming out to mourn the late Kabuchai member of Parliament James Lusweti Mukwe who passed away on Friday in Nairobi after a long illness. Addressing West Media at her home in Wabukhonyi village in Milima ward, Tongaren constituency, former Bungoma woman representative Dr. Reginalda Wanyonyi termed the late as a committed man who could go out of his way to serve his constituents with passion and integrity.
She said Mukwe’s death was untimely and a big blow to all the residents of Bungoma County and that leaders, especially those from Western region, should learn from Mukwe the trait of working together despite party affiliations. However he cautioned leaders from Bungoma County to refrain from engaging in abusive tussles as was recently witnessed in a funeral instead maintain peace.
She noted that his funeral shouldn’t turn out to be another political mess, “We are likely to have many visitors who don’t come from Western Kenya so I’m appealing to leaders from this region and specifically Bungoma not to quarrel and abuse each other, since we may become a laughing stock,” she said.
