After exiting the civil service, we catch up with Francis Wangusi who has since retreated in his backyard in Bungoma County and is practicing farming, but says he still has the zeal to transform the County if offered a chance.
He says devolution whose aim was to better the lives of people at the grass root level has not been greatly felt in Bungoma County regretting that many people are still languishing in poverty.
He adds that with proper leadership in place the County will be able to be steered in the right direction saying there are many opportunities in the Agricultural sector that have not yet been tapped.
“I will be able to provide an alternative and tangible trans formative leadership in the County if given an opportunity that will be able to regain the lost Glory of the County” he said.
He boosted over the successful digital migration of television in the country saying it is one of his success stories that Kenyans are now enjoying having steered that during his tenure at the helm of the Communications authority.
Wangusi however says politics of parties has eroded the County and country at large saying people should consider shifting from party based politics to issue based politics.
