Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa has once again been arrested by DCI detectives at his Karen home, due to an alleged fraudulent car deal. This comes weeks after Echesa was released on a Kshs 1 million cash bail in the controversial Kshs 39.5 billion fraudulent arms deal, after he, together with other suspects, denied the charges leveled against them.
On Monday, detectives from the Economic Crimes Unit camped outside Echesa’s Karen home after being denied entry, for more than one hour. They were forced to devise another way of accessing the premises with an online video showing the officers jumping over the perimeter wall’s gate. Five vehicles were impounded in the arrest raid and were all taken to the DCI headquarters along Kiambu road.
