Cabinet Secretaries led by Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa have commenced trips around the Counties in the Western region to inspect and commission projects. The Cabinet Secretaries apart from CS Wamalwa are Transport CS James Macharia, Mining CS John Munyes and Agriculture CS Peter Munya. Accompanying them in inspecting various projects are Governors from the region.
On Monday, the leaders commissioned the Kshs 700 million 21km Naitiri-Misikhu phase 2 road in Bungoma County. Phase 1, from Naitiri-Brigadier was constructed by the County government, with the second part allotted to the national government. The leaders thereafter visited the Nzoia Sugar Company where they held a consultative meeting with farmers and stakeholders at the Nzoia Sugar guest house grounds. They later visisted the Mumias Sugar Company in Kakamega County where they also held a consultative meeting with farmers and stakeholders.
Led by CS Wamalwa and Governors, they commissioned the tarmacking of the 15km Gisambai-Hamisi-Shamakhokho road. Moreover, 10 acres of land was handed over in Vihiga County in West Bunyore for the construction of a granite factory. The development trip is a culmination of meetings between the executive and leaders from Western, with President Uhuru Kenyatta keen to ensure stalled projects kick off and others implemented.
