Four standard eight candidates from one of the schools in Chesumei constituency Nandi county are sitting their KCPE examinations while expectant.
The four candidates are from Kapchepkok Primary School in Kombe location, Kaptel/Kamoiywo zone.
According to the Ministry of Education Nandi, one of the four expectant candidates was on Tuesday rushed to a nearby hospital during a Kiswahili paper after complaining of stomach pains.
The girl was taken to Kapsabet Referral Hospital where she was admitted to the maternity wing but was later discharged in the evening on the doctor’s ground that her delivery time was not yet mature and she could have felt contractions due to fear and anxiety of examinations.
She was taken to her home and is fairing on well while the other three are also in good condition and have done their exams without any complication.
The candidates will be sitting for their last examination paper today Wednesday where they will be calling it a day before proceeding to home to become parents.
This brings to a total of five candidates with cases of pregnancy in Nandi who sat their 2020 KCPE exams while in that condition.
Nandi has been witnessing high rising cases of teenage pregnancies since the inception of Covid-19 pandemic which has seen many girls mess with their future life.
