At least four people were injured Wednesday mid-morning following a road accident that involved two trucks and a Nissan Matatu at Kaburengu trading center along Eldoret -Webuye highway in Matete Sub County Kakamega County.
Confirming the incident, Kivaywa Sub Location assistant chief Ann Oyule said the accident occurred after the driver of a truck that was transporting lime from the Kenyan Coast to a neighboring country lost control after it failed brakes while descending the steep Chimoi slope towards Webuye.
She said the truck hit a Nissan Matatu that was coming from the opposite side throwing it in a ditch before it proceeded and hit another truck that was also approaching from the opposite direction.

The fault truck later fell immediately after the Kaburengu flyover scattering the goods on transit allover.
Three passengers who were in the Matatu and the driver were injured before being rescued and rushed to Webuye County hospital. The two truck drivers escaped unhurt.
