Four people have perished in a Monday morning accident along the Nakuru- Eldoret Highway.
The accident which occurred around 0500 hrs was as a result of head-on collision that involved a Nakuru-bound matatu belonging to Msamaria Shuttle Ltd and a 60-seater.
The information from the National Police Service indicates that the driver of the Msamaria matatu lost control of the vehicle leading to the collision.
The accident occured at Hill Tea Area along Eldoret- Nakuru Road.
The police information also indicates that matatu was carrying 16 passengers at the time of the accident which claimed the lives of the driver and three other passengers who died on the spot.
Nine other passengers were seriously injured and are currently receiving treatment at Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital.
The accident comes a few days after 10 people lost their lives in a grisly accident along Kikima- Kali-Machakos road in Makueni County.
Motorists and all other road users have been urged to exercise extreme caution while on the roads, especially during this rainy season.
