Likuyani Deputy County Commissioner Wilson Kimaiyo has warn residents
to wary of conmen who are illegally using deputy president William
Ruto’s name to collect money from unsuspecting residents.
Speaking at Soy Sambu primary school during,
Kimaiyo said they was a group of fraudsters moving across the sub
county asking residents to form groups and pay a certain amount for
processing grants which will be given to them by the deputy president
William Ruto in an event to be held at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu
county.
Kimaiyo said that his office was not aware of such a programme and
those who are doing it were men and women who are out to defraud
unsuspecting Likuyani residents.
He said if it was a legitimate programme it would have gone through
his office and then be communicated to them through chiefs and their
assistants in barazas.
The DCC called upon resident to be vigilant and report to the police
any individual who will go to them with such information aimed at
duping them into their mendacity.
Elsewhere the DCC expressed his concern over deteriorating state of
security in the sub county following spate of rape and murder
incidents being witnessed in the area.
He said it was regrettable that in a span of three week four women
have lost their lives to hands of rapist who strangle them death after
sexually assaulting them.
Kimaiyo warned that such state of lawlessness was unacceptable
disclosing that he had planned to hold a security meeting with all
stakeholders to end criminal activities in the sub county.
He however appealed to the residents not to hide criminals in their
midst but instead report them to police for a legal action to be taken
against them.
