Health workers stationed at the Covid-19 isolation centre in Trans Nzoia have called off their one week strike, and have urged leaders in the health sector to address their grievances to avoid any future inconveniences.
The health workers decried the lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), failure to receive their allowances as directed by President Uhuru Kenyatta among other issues. According to a health workers official, Trans Nzoia said attempts to contain the spread of the virus in the County haven’t been successful. Further, Health CEC Mrs Claire Wanyama also highlighted that the County lacks a sufficient testing capacity.
