Fuel prices slashed in latest review; prices in some major Western towns

EPRA has slashed petrol, diesel and kerosene prices

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has announced a decrease in fuel prices, a respite for Kenyans feeling the pinch of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the latest review, the price of Super Petrol decreases by Kshs.1.42 while Diesel and Kerosene decreases by KShs.2.21 and KShs.2.10 per litre respectively. In Nairobi, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will now retail at Kshs 105.85, Kshs 90.70 and Kshs 81.63, with the new prices in place from November 15th to December 14th.

The changes in this month’s prices are as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreasing by 4.45% from US$ 331.37 per cubic metre in September 2020 to US$ 316.64 per cubic metre in October 2020, Diesel decreasing by 7.42% from US$ 311.99 per cubic metre to US$ 288.83 per cubic metre and Kerosene decreasing by 7.42% from US$ 282.09 per cubic metre to US$ 261.17 per cubic metre.

Prices in some major towns in Western are as follows; In Kakamega Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 106.53 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 91.61 and Kerosene at Kshs 82.56. In Bungoma, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.24, Diesel will retail at Kshs 92.32 and Kerosene at Kshs 83.28. In Webuye, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 106.91, Diesel will retail at Kshs 91.98 and Kerosene at Kshs 82.94, in Kitale, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 106.84, Diesel will retail at Kshs 91.92, and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 82.88.

In Mumias Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 106.80, Diesel will retail at Kshs 91.88, Kerosene will retail at Kshs 82.84. In Malaba, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.64, Diesel at Kshs 92.74 and Kerosene at Kshs 83.68. In Kiminini Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.03, Diesel at Kshs 92.10 and Kerosene at Kshs 83.06. In Kapenguria Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.48, Diesel will retail at Kshs 92.56 and Kerosene at Kshs 83.52.
