The Kenya Kwanza brigade have pitched camp in West Pokot County to campaign for United Democratic Alliance UDA party candidates ahead of Monday Member of Parliament polls.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission is expected to conduct Pokot South and Kacheliba constituency MP polls after being postponed following the errors on the ballot papers.
It will be a fierce battle between the Azimio and Kenya Kwanza candidates as both round up campaigns ahead of Monday polls.
The Kenya Kwanza brigade led by Deputy President elect Rigathi Gachagua wooed voters to vote for UDA candidate Simon Kalekem in Pokot South and Mark Lomunokol as Kacheliba MP.
The duo will be facing off with the current Pokot South MP David Pkosing and first Deputy Governor Titus Lotee who are in Kenya Union Party which is in Azimio.
Speaking at Chepareria, Gachagua said electorates should not vote for their opponents citing that if they make a mistake by voting for them they will be in opposition.
He added that Azimio are delaying them from implementing what they promised voters by taking the Presidential election petition at the Supreme Court.
He said they promised Kenyans within 100 days food stuff and fertilizer prices will be decreased but Raila Odinga is holding the country at stand still while battling the Presidential election case in court.
“We asking him who stole his votes because all along he was defeated by Moi, Kibaki and Kenyatta governments and claimed his votes were stolen.” He said.
He alleged that the current Pokot South MP Pkosing betrayed Deputy President William Ruto despite helping him to clinch the MP seat in 2017 and locals should send him parking on Monday.
“We voted overwhelmingly for William Ruto and we have to give him foot soldiers for him to deliver his manifesto. Vote for Kalekem as the area MP.” He said.
He slammed the current MP Pkosing for minding about enriching himself by buying a helicopter rather than focusing on development.
Simon Kachapin West Pokot County governor drummed up support for Kalekem urging locals to vote for UDA candidates.
“If Mount Kenya voted for William Ruto why not us vote for our own at Pokot South. We need to send home leaders who are full of themselves.” He said.
He said on Monday they are optimistic UDA candidate will win which will mark a new beginning to the constituency electorates.
Aden Duale Garissa town MP said the Azimio leader Raila Odinga said they are expecting the Supreme Court verdict to throw out the case warning Raila not to demonstrate or swear himself as people’s president.
He said the Uhuru Kenyatta government bungled them out from their positions in Parliament but they are back and they get back their position as Major leaders.
“As Kenya Kwanza if we get the four parliamentary seats on Monday will have 200 MPs in Parliament. Even President Uhuru Kenyatta powers have been cut off; he can’t employ anyone right now or call for a cabinet meeting. Vote UDA for you to be in government.” He said.
He said they are waiting for Uhuru to hand over instrument of power to the President elect William Ruto because Ruto was elected by majority.
Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said despite the Azimio brigade had all the top government officials including security personnel on their side the Kenya Kwanza brigade managed to beat them on first round.
“Elect UDA MP and you will get development from the government. In Murang’a County we elected all UDA leaders and they have a lot for their people.” He said.
He told off Azimio Presidential candidate to search for his votes elsewhere if he claims they were stolen rather than going to court to waste time.
