We gave no fertilizer to Trans Nzoia, West Pokot says
The West Pokot County government has refuted claims that it gave out planting fertilizer to the neighboring Trans-Nzoia County.
This comes after some locals complained and accused the county government of West Pokot that fertilizer from the county was taken to the neighboring county, Trans-nzoia.
West Pokot Deputy Governor, Titus Lotee pointed out that the county government received twenty two thousand bags of fertilizer from the national government and sold them all to area farmers.
He explained that most farmers who plant maize in Chepchoina scheme along the border of West Pokot and Trans-nzoia counties come from West Pokot hence were given fertilizer.

“The county government did not give out any single bag of fertilizer to Trans-Nzoia County. When people see fertilizer going to Chepchoina they say that we have given out fertilizer, Chepchoina is in our county,” said Lotee.
Speaking to farmers in Kapenguria town, Lotee observed that that was propaganda being spread to spoil the name of the county.
He asked area residents to give a deaf ear to the claims citing that no fertilizer was given out to another county.
The Deputy Governor said that Trans-Nzoia county has its enough fertilizer hence does not need any more from West Pokot.
Lotee urged farmers in the county to concentrate on their farms and not listen to lies that are being made by a few individuals who are there to taint the name of the county.
“Right now it is raining and farmers should be busy in their farms, not on the streets listening to lies,” he said.
He said there are people in the county who are not happy with the projects that are being done by the county government.
Lotee reiterated that the county government is committed to implementing projects according to the manifesto of the area governor Simon Kachapin, which he promised while campaigning.
