Residents of tiny sleepy Sambaka village in Kilibot sub location Matete Sub County have been left in shock after a goat belonging to one of them delivered a kid that walks on its two forelegs.

Astounded residents are streaming to the village, to document the incident firsthand at the home of Mr. Hezron Mafunga Chitiavi.

According to Mrs. Elizabeth Mafunga, wife to Mr. Hezron, the goat didn’t have any complications during its pregnancy period and it delivered well last Friday without any difficulties but she was shocked to see the deformity when the kid tried to stand.

The visibly shocked owner said that after gaining strength the kid stood up and started walking on two legs.

Despite being born with four legs the young goat walk using the front legs alone with the rear limbs hanging up in the air and raised higher above the ground.

“The irony is that despite the deformity the animal is full of health and goes about normally, and it runs faster even if you try to follow it you can’t catch it,” said the mesmerized farmer.

Mrs. Mafunga said she bought the mother goat from Matete market three months age while expectant before it delivered.

She said her children who witnessed the young goat walking on two legs vanished from home fearing to take care of the young animal adding that she could not as well locate the trader who sold it to her.

The farmer said that she was ready to keep the kid till it matures if it survives in its current state. “I cannot kill or do anything to harm it but I’ll take good care of it till maturity,” said Mrs. Mafunga

She, however, revealed that she was ready to part with the goat to anyone offering good tidings.

The incident has attracted throngs of villagers who are visiting the home to catch a glimpse of the goat as they struggle to interpret the rare occurrence. “For over 70 years I have lived on this earth I have never seen a goat walking on two legs this is amazing,” said Mzee Moses Mbuya.
