Gor land 5 years sponsorship deal

Fifteen time Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have finally landed a shirt sponsorship after three years of financial struggles.
K’ogalo confirmed a five year deal with leading local sports betting company Sportpesa and league sponsors during new players unveiling ceremony at the club secretariat, Nyayo National Stadium.
“For two and a half years we have been referred to as the broke Gor Mahia in many quarters. But today, Gor Mahia FC one of the oldest and most successful club in Kenya is delighted to announce a landmark 5 year sponsorship deal with SportPesa,” said Gor chairman Ambrose Rachier during a press conference.
“This is part of SportPesa’s commitment to football development in the country and a goal to help see Kenya take part in the World Cup.
“The deal will cover payment of player salaries, world class player recruitment and official kitting,” he added.
Gor Mahia will be locking horns with Gotv Shield champions Bandari in a DSTV Super Cup on Saturday in Mombasa.

Elsewhere Ulinzi Stars will miss the services of eight of their key players in the first leg of the 2016 Kenyan Premier League season, the club has announced.
The eight players who have been sidelined from the team due to various reasons ranging from redeployment to studies include defender Mohammed Hassan, Collins Ochieng and Ezekiel Otuoma.
Former captain Evans Amwoka, Mulinge Ndetto, Salim Mohammed and Francis Ochieng have all been redeployed while Elvis Nandwa is still attending initial military training at the Recruits Training School (RTS) in Eldoret.
However, the team has been boosted by the return of defender Sylus Shitote from injury.
Ulinzi will face Sony Sugar in their season opener on February 13 At Afraha Stadium.
