President William Ruto has promised that the government will continue to boost the agricultural sector in the country to ensure the availability of enough food.
Speaking in Kwale County where he led other Kenyans in the celebrations of the heroes’ day in Kwale County, the President said the government continues to raise the agricultural sector and bring about changes in all levels of production.
Among the sectors of agriculture mentioned in his Mashujaa day speech included fishing and fish farming, flower farming, food, animal husbandry and other development of the important sector.
“Investment is implemented to increase production and access to quality inputs, provide better consulting services, reduce post-harvest losses and increase producers’ income.” said the President in his speech.
He also said that they have completed the operation of importing cheap fertilizer, the price of which he said will remain at 2500 shillings for each 50 kg sack as it was before.
The head of state explained that the efforts carried out by the government are aimed at guaranteeing producers profits through collecting products, increasing the value of products and selling them abroad.
