Tourism CS Najib Balala has revealed that the government in partnership with the County governments, is set to recognize and honor athletes for their excellent sporting achievements. Speaking in Nandi when he visited the Kipchoge Keino sports complex said the government is set to honor athletes as it is away of promoting the tourism sector.
Balala who was with Nandi Governor Stephen Sang said the government will also profile the region as a tourism hub, document all the athletes and tourism circuit for North Rift region. “Athletes should be honored for their exemplary performance and as a government we are working on that,” he added. On his part, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang said Nandi County is a tourism potential region rich in tourism resources thus should be considered as a tourism circuit.
