Trans Nzoia County Governor Patrick Khaemba had it rough defending himself before the Senate Finance committee concerning County cash expenses and development projects implementation.
The senate finance committee led by Senator Prof. Sam Ongeri wanted to know about the state of Trans Nzoia County, including projects like the referral hospital and the Kitale town car park. On the two projects, the committee wanted to know why they weren’t up and running despite assurances by the Governor last year that they were completed.
However Governor Khaemba defended himself over the same and went ahead to invite the committee to visit the projects in question and see the progress themselves.
Governor Khaemba was also asked to explain why the County doesn’t have a special technological and communication hub, coupled with a lack of internal financial auditing. Senators said a lack of such vital items shows the Governor doesn’t take his duties seriously. The committee has planned to visit Trans Nzoia to assess the development projects and implementation of issues raised.
