Nandi County Governor Dr Cleophas Lagat has urged residents to vote peacefully during the Jubilee party nominations and during the August General elections.
Speaking at Kipchoge Keino stadium where he received the national champions team from Nandi, Governor Lagat appealed to residents to vote peacefully adding that as aspirants they are ready for the nominations.
He revealed that the Jubilee party nominations will be free and fair, and called upon his opponents to uphold high standards integrity during the exercise.
The Governor requested voters to turn up in large numbers during the party nominations. He said the people of Nandi are demanding answers concerning his achievements since he took charge, and he outlined what has been achieved under his reign, including the construction of Kipchoge Keino stadium. “I have done a lot to the people of Nandi as Governor by accomplishing various projects like establishing access to piped water to each homestead, improving infrastructure, and improving the health sector,” he said.
The Jubilee party has warned politicians against causing chaos during the party nominations, citing that those responsible will face tough penalties.
