West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo has lashed out at women leaders in the country for dividing Kenyans by incessant politicking. Governor Lonyangapuo in particular cited the two political groups of Inua Mama initiative allied to Deputy President Dr. William Ruto and Embrace Kenya allied to ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta saying it is wrong for the two factions to keep on politicking at the expense of development.
The County boss reiterated that differences have slowly degenerated into personalized attacks using vulgar and abusive language.
He said that the recent counter attacks of women leaders has polarized the country and that national politics can cause ripple effects in Counties. “Women should have unity and should not divide Kenyans,” noted Lonyangapuo.
Speaking to the press in Kapenguria, Governor Lonyangapuo said the two groups have ignited tension and sparked a vicious war among women leaders adding that the politicians in the two camps have refused to heed to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive not to engage in early 2022 campaigns.
He called on the women leaders to cool down political narratives, “Women are the pillar of the society and if they start taking sides its means we are losing focus as a country.” He said that different formations are brewing statements that could trigger violence in the country
