As the government of Kenya strives to initiate key reforms in health sector that are meant to improve and attain universal health coverage and medical treatment to her citizens, Kenyans from poor families continue to struggle seeking medical care.
This is according to Naitiri – Kabuyefwe Member of County Assembly elect Wafula Waiti who said it is saddening how poor Kenyans continue to struggle seeking medical care resulting from the high cost of living across the country and high medical expenses.
He called upon Governor Kenneth Lusaka to ensure all health facilities across the County have drugs and medical equipment for the locals in the County to have access to affordable medical and equitable health service.
He explained how costly accessing medical services from referral hospitals across the country is, urging the governor to come up with an initiative that will enable poor families to have access to affordable health care services.
The MCA elect however complained over poor management of the funds meant to aid widows in the community to invest in income generating projects being embezzled, asking the relevant authority to have a mechanism that will ensure the funds benefit the intended group.
Besides, he assured his citizens that he will deliver quality services to them, by coming up with projects that will benefit them and create more job opportunities for the youths.
