Governor Kenneth Lusaka has praised President William Ruto for successfully securing major infrastructure investment agreements with China aimed at boosting Kenya’s regional connectivity and economic growth.
Speaking during an interdenominational prayer and thanksgiving service held in Malava, Kakamega County, Lusaka who represented President Ruto at the event commended the signing of strategic deals that will see the dualling of the Rironi–Mau Summit–Malaba highway and the expansion of the Naivasha–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
“President William Ruto is on the right development trajectory,” Lusaka said. “The strategic Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba SGR expansion and the Rironi–Mau Summit–Malaba highway dual carriageway projects will enhance the country’s regional connectivity and transportation.”
He noted that the expansion of the SGR and the highway would significantly boost economic activities in Bungoma and the broader Western Kenya region.
“Bungoma strategically borders Uganda and several other counties. The SGR and Malaba highway dual road will spur regional trade and transportation efficiency,” Lusaka added.
The governor urged Western Kenya residents to rally behind President Ruto’s transformative agenda, emphasizing the importance of supporting the government for meaningful development.

“You only go to look for cow dung in a home that rears cattle,” Lusaka remarked, stressing that tangible progress can only be achieved through partnership with those in leadership.
The event, organized by President Ruto’s personal aide Farouk Kibet, brought together over 60 churches and was attended by several Members of Parliament and local leaders. It also raised KSh 9.5 million to support the participating churches, underscoring the strong collaboration between political and religious leadership in the region.
