Residents of two wards in Bunyala sub county turned up in large numbers Wednesday 11th of May 2016 to welcome Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong when he toured the area.
The Governor started his tour at Bulemia where he met the elders and other stakeholders who presented him with their memorandum highlighting their demands.
Ojaamong said among the demands included more job opportunities for residents of the area, a dispensary, improved drainage, water, Jua kali shades and a tractor.
He pledged to look into the demands raised by the residents.
“My government will employ two water ambulance operators after training them. We shall also construct toilets demolished by a contractor.” He said.
At Budalang’i market in Bunyala North ward, the Governor said floodlights will be installed at market before the end of June, adding that water scarcity in the area was being addressed.
“Small traders will be considered for funding by my government through the Agricultural and Cooperative Development Funds to empower them and help improve their businesses,” he said.
At Legio Maria Sipala Church, Ojaamomg said he would team up with friends of Banyala to help in the completion of the church which is nearing lintel stage.
He pledged to work with the people of Bunyala in realizing their socioeconomic objectives, adding that nothing can stand in his way in fulfilling his mandate to the Abanyala people.
“Development cannot be achieved in isolation. I owe the people of Bunyala in high esteem most of whom are my long term friends,” he said.
The Governor was accompanied by Bunyala North MCA Fredrick Musirimba, County Executive Committee member for Finance Lenard Obimbira, PA to the Governor Tilly Sumba, Liaison officer Patrick Obongoya, County Chief Officer Joel Barua, ICT administrator Hudson Ogubi and Communication Director Winston Wambanda.
