Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has reshuffled his cabinet in a bid to improve service delivery, and sacking three CECs in the process. Speaking after the reshuffle, Sang said the move is aimed at bringing the services closer to the residents, and urged those heading different dockets to serve well. The reshuffling comes after two former CECs, the Education and Transport CECs, had been suspended months ago due to graft allegations.
Grace Sugut who was the Public Service Chief Officer is the new Education CEC taking over from Valentine Chumo, who has been fired. Dr. Philemon Bureti is the new Lands, Environment CEC taking over from Stanley Baliach who has also been fired following the graft allegations that had also implcated the other former CECs, and Drice Rono is taking over the Transport and Infrastructure docket from Hillary Koech who has also been dismissed.
In the Chief Officers’ line, Daniel Sang of Education has reinstated, Sally Kemboi from Health and Sanitation has been moved to the Water and Sanitation docket, Scolastica Tuwei moved to Social Services from the Administration and e-government docket and Dr. Paul Lagat has been nominated as the new Health and Sanitation CO.
