The leaked document of the planned purchase of a bag of cement at more than Kshs 900 by the County government of Nandi, has raised eyebrows on social media, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang urged to account for the funds and clarify on alleged corruption.
This is after the document from the department of education and vocational training went viral, with Kenyans puzzled how the price of bags of cement was so inflated. Governor Sang on social media said the document making rounds on social media was fake and had 400 bags instead of 4,000 bags.
The document from the education department had listed materials and construction items meant for the completion of the Early childhood Development Centers for the 2017/2018 financial year a docket which was then held by Valentine Chumo who was fired by Governor Sang against graft allegations last year.
