The Kakamega county governor Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya has accused the national government of failing to complete the stalled projects in the county but instead proceeds on initiating new ones.
Mr. Oparanya who termed the move as poor planning on the national government side, singled out the incomplete Kakamega – Webuye road as one of the stalled projects in the county which has hindered transport services and also put the lives of motorists and passengers in danger.
The road remains incomplete due to the court battle that barred the Val contractors from finalizing it.
The national government in the recent past has commissioned the construction of Kisumu – Kakamega and Sigalagala – Butere roads, a move that has left the Governor to raise questions to the national government.
”They should get their priorities and complete the stalled projects before starting new ones.” said Mr.Oparanya.
Motorists and drivers find it difficult to use the Kakamega – Webuye road during rainy seasons as it becomes impassable hence leading to traffic jams and accidents.
Residents and businessmen along the road also expressed their anger on the same as they lamented that it hampers their business activities.
