The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed 102 new Covid-19 cases, raising the country’s total to 35,205. Health CAS Rashid Aman said 2,668 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, with cumulative tests conducted so far reaching 477,145. All the new cases were Kenyans except 9 people.
The number of males and females testing positive was the same at 51 each. The youngest is a 1-year-old infant while the oldest is 86 years old. Nairobi has the most cases with 41, Kitui has 11, Kiambu 7, Mombasa 6, Busia 5, Turkana 4, Nyeri 4, Taita Taveta 4, Meru, Murang’a, Kajiado, Machakos, Bungoma, Kilifi have 2 cases each. Embu, Laikipia, Garissa, Kisumu have 1 case each.
80 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 21,310. 30 of them recovered under the home based program while 50 were discharged from health facilities. 2 more patients have succumbed to the virus, raising fatalities to 599.
