Covid-19 cases in Kenya have reached 38,115 after 244 more cases were confirmed by the Ministry of Health on Sunday. The new cases were picked from a sample size of 3,707 in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tests have reached 540,308.
Of the new cases, 228 are Kenyans and are 16 foreigners while 157 are males and 87 females. The youngest in the new cases is a three-month-old infant while the oldest is 85-year-old.
40 more patients have recovered in the same time frame, taking the total recoveries to 24,621. 30 of these recovered under the home based care program while 10 recovered from different hospitals. The fatalities have risen to 691, however, after 2 deaths were confirmed.
In the Counties, Nairobi leads with 63 new cases. Nakuru is the second with 58, Kisii 23, Garissa 16, Kisumu 14 and Mombasa 13. Kiambu has 10 cases, Busia 9 cases, Trans Nzoia 7 cases, Turkana 6 cases, Kajiado 5, Kericho 5, Uasin Gishu, Narok, Laikipia, Siaya each 2 cases, Kakamega, Bungoma, Marsabit, Meru, Murang’a, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi have 1 case each.
