Residents of Musikoma village in Kanduyi constituency woke up to a rude shock after discovering the body of a high school teacher dangling on a rope after he committed suicide for reasons attributed to family squabbles.
According to the late’s dad Edward Khisa, his Son Tiberius Khisa who was a teacher at St Charles secondary school Khalaba was an introvert who had been living with his brother for a few months after he fell apart with his wife.
He said his son was a good man who did not quarrel with anyone and always arrived at home after 9 pm and left as early as 5 am for his school duties saying he interacted more with his brother whom they shared a house. His brother Joseph said on the fateful night his brother arrived on a motorbike and felt weak, and he had to help him get to the house.
He disclosed that he refused to eat and he left him to go to bed early but was perturbed to wake up in the morning to his brother’s suicide shock.
However, he said the late had intimated to him that after separating with his wife, his life had become complicated and was having a rough time in life. He called upon the government through the Teachers Service Commission to consider having guiding and counselling sessions for teachers saying many of them are traumatized.
