Kamusinga has been the reigning champion in this sport and has lifted the national title more than 11 times besides winning the East Africa tittle three times.
Last year was its worst year having been eliminated earlier with St Anthony taking home the trophy after smashing Busia county giants Kolanya High.
St Anthony from Trans Nzoia County went straight to represent the nation in the East and central secondary school games after thrashing all its opponents in the nationals.
The two last year’s regional finalist Kamusinga and Kolanya will face the biggest exam when they face off in their opening group battle on Wednesday.

Other opponents in the group are Vihiga county representatives Nyangori boys and Bungoma giants Bokoli.
Kamusinga will battle it out with West Pokot stars Chewoyet and Kakamega county representatives’ kakamega High.
The national hockey girls champions Trans-Nzoia Mixed from Trans Nzoia County will also be looking for the ticket for defending their title.
For the newcomers in school games, Nzoia Region is also the bedrock of secondary schools Girls Basketball talent.
Every year, the region’s finals provide basketball enthusiasts with a chance to witness the country’s best, after all, it is here that national and East Africa champions live.
Two East Africa ladies basketball giants call this place home with Vihiga counties’ Tigoi girls and Trans Nzoia queens St Brigids carrying the region’s blessings year in year out.
The two teams are expected to repeat the same this year when they face off in Kamusinga.
Rugby 15ns stars Kakamega High, St Peters Mumias and Bungoma High are also in the race for the national ticket battle.
