Webuye East MP, Hon. Martin Pepela Wanyonyi, delivered a powerful and inspiring message at The Comrades Convention Forum held in Bunambo, Tongaren Constituency, calling on the youth and fellow comrades to take a stand for justice and be at the forefront of positive change in Kenya. In his passionate address, Hon. Wanyonyi emphasized the critical role that the youth play in shaping the nation’s future and urged them not to shy away from speaking out against injustices.
“Revolution starts with each one of us taking responsibility,” he told the attendees. “We must stand firm, speak out for what is right, and actively participate in the transformation of our nation. The youth are the backbone of Kenya’s future, and it is up to you to lead the charge towards a better tomorrow.”
As part of his broader agenda to empower young people, Hon. Wanyonyi made a strong appeal to Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) to work closely with Members of Parliament, particularly in the distribution of bursaries. He stressed that every deserving comrade should be included in these educational initiatives, which are pivotal for the advancement and empowerment of the youth.
“It is essential that we collaborate effectively to ensure that no deserving student is left behind,” he said. “Education is a powerful tool for change, and it is our duty to provide the necessary support to those who need it most. By working together, we can secure a brighter future for our youth and, ultimately, our nation.”
Later, Hon. Wanyonyi demonstrated his commitment to community welfare by joining the residents of Mitukuyu village in paying tribute to the late Koko Rispa Nanyama, a cherished elder who recently passed away at the remarkable age of 102. The MP offered his deepest condolences to the family and the community, recognizing Koko Rispa’s long and impactful life as a pillar of wisdom and strength.
“Today, we not only mourn the loss of a beloved elder but also celebrate a life well-lived,” Hon. Wanyonyi stated during the gathering. “Koko Rispa’s legacy will continue to inspire us all, and I pray that God grants her family and the entire community the strength to find comfort during this time of grief.”
Turning his focus to local development, Hon. Wanyonyi expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing construction at Magemo Technical Training Institute (TTI). He urged the local residents to fully embrace the project, which he described as a game-changer for the socio-economic landscape of the region. The MP highlighted the importance of the institute in providing technical education and skills that will empower the youth and enhance economic opportunities in Webuye East Constituency.
“The development of Magemo TTI is a milestone for our community,” Hon. Wanyonyi noted. “This institution will not only provide our youth with valuable skills but also attract economic activity and investment to our region.
