IEBC Chairman has insisted that there will be no extension of the stipulated registration time, which is set to end on 14th February, ” We appeal to all Kenyans to come out and register, there will be no extension,” he said. While giving an update on the ongoing mass voter registration, the IEBC chairman said 2,164,185 voters have been registered so far.

The chairman said out of the 128,000 shared IDs, 50,000 were found to be legitimate. This information is timely as it comes after complaints from the public on shared IDs. He added that the remaining number of shared IDs have been published, and verification for the remaining IDs should be done for the listed. University students have been boosted after Chebukati said registration of students will start from 8th, “Voter registration for university students will be conducted from 8th to 14th February.” Apart from students, prisoners will be able to register from 118 prisons from 20th to 27th February.

Registration for Kenyans living abroad will be done in East African countries, which include Uganda, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, and he added that Kenyans in South Africa will also be allowed to register.
