Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Nandi county Branch has registered a total of 26,381 new voters in a period of two weeks since the commencement mass voter registration exercise.
Nandi county IEBC coordinator Mr Noah Biamah revealed the number while urging more residents to turn up for the exercise.
He said they aim to register 103,848 new voters within a month, citing that people must register as voters for the betterment of their future and he revealed that voter education is going on well. He appealed to the residents to avoid the registration rush hour, urging residents to register now.
Jubilee and opposition leaders have been moving around the country to mobilize voters given that the general election is not far away. The government has urged government officials to get involved in the mobilization exercise in their respective regions.
