The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has stated that the Presidential results will be announced within seven days after the Tuesday election.
Addressing the media on Thursday, August 4, IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya noted that the Presidential winner would be announced within seven days after the Tuesday elections.
Kenyans will vote next week on Tuesday August 9, 2022 which has been declared a public holiday, as gazetted by Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i, the declared public holiday will give Kenyans an opportunity to participate in the 2022 General Elections of Members of County Assemblies, Members of Parliament and County Governors, Senators and Women Reps as the gazette notice read.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has declared four candidates to contest in the Presidential race; Deputy President Dr.William Ruto, Raila Odinga, Lawyer George Wajackoyah and Agano Party’s David Mwaure Waihiga.
According to recent polls conducted by TIFA, Infotrak and Ipsos, Odinga and Ruto are the two leading Presidential candidates ahead of the next week’s polls.
