The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) together with the police department have been urged to conduct fresh investigations into the killings of 2 locals at the border of Nandi and Kakamega Counties, which happened last month due to border disputes between the 2 communities residing there.
Speaking during a visit to the site with officers from the NCIC, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang together with Mosop MP Vincent Tuwei cited intimidation of witnesses may affect investigations.
The duo appealed to IPOA to start fresh investigations into the matter because witnesses into the murder have been intimidated to desist from revealing the truth, and most of them are in a state of fear.
The two leaders asked the government to stop any farming activity on the escarpment until the whole matter is resolved amicably.
