James Githii Mburu has been appointed the new Kenya Revenue Authority Commissioner General. Mburu replaces the outgoing John Njiraini. In a Gazette notice released on Thursday, the appointment by the Treasury CS Henry Rotich was confirmed. The KRA boss will serve a term of three years, with effect from 1st July 2019.
Mburu, who is the head of the KRA Intelligence and Strategic Operations commissioner was among five other candidates shortlisted for the top seat. The other candidates included Mr. Julius Waita Mwatu, Mr. Andrew Kazora Okello, Mr. Duncan Otieno Onduru, and Mr. Richard Buru Ndung’u.
