Joy as Safaricom tours Kakamega town in road show
Kakamega town and County, by extension, residents were on Saturday April 23rd 2016 treated to a rare pleasure of a road show from the country’s leading communication company, Safaricom.
In the promotion dubbed ‘Safaricom pamoja caravan’ and which will traverse the region and other major towns and shopping centers in the larger Western region for the next five weeks, fans were awarded for their continued loyalty to the company’s long standing services.
The main aim of the campaign is for the company to reach to its customers, sorting out some of their concerns while at the same time sensitizing them on Safaricom’s available products and services in the form of promotions and offers.
Among these promotions that received much praise from the audience was the current ‘stori ibambe’ promo which has customers receiving 100 percent airtime increase on their stated targets, which are based on their average typical usage.
Through comical but ‘straight to the point’ emcees, among them West media Limited presenters Sakali Dalmus alias Dalmundu and Hiran Mugaisi, Safaricom customers were also enlightened on how to identify and deal with fraud, especially when carrying out MPESA transactions.
It is at this point that the ‘hakikisha’ service –allows customers to confirm who they are sending money to within 20 seconds before completion of a transaction-was shed light on.
The launch of the five week program also saw residents purchase Safaricom SIM cards, a bid that intends to see the Company increase its market base in the region.
One on one with marketing manager
Speaking to West Media during the launch, The company’s Marketing Manager in the region Evans Ochieng said that the Company saw it important to have their customers access them directly.
“Some of our customers feel that we are inaccessible, especially due to the fact that our customer lines are at times very busy. We are here to see their issues addressed directly,” Mr. Ochieng said.
“Fraud has been a major challenge to us and our customers thus we saw the need to educate our customers on how to avoid this,” he added.
He also thanked Safaricom customers for keeping it Safaricom in all their communication endeavors.
Customers express satisfaction
Entertainment was never going to lack as the audience was treated to hilarious comedies from various actors, music booming as some residents took part in the dance.
Those who impressed did not leave the scene empty handed as they had ‘Safaricom mtaani’ branded T-shirts, caps, airtime and other gifts from the Bob Collymore led company.
Customers expressed their satisfaction at drinking from the Safaricom pot as far as communication entailed with those we spoke to, singling out the ever growing MPESA as one of their best they have ever received from the company.
“I am always wowed with what MPESA has to offer day in, day out,” one of the customers openly admitted.
“Safaricom network might never receive a perfect competitor any time soon, with their ‘storo bonus’ provision really adding much to people’s relationships through increased and improved communication,” another customer added.
Earlier in the day, the caravan had stop overs at various towns and shopping centres on its way from Kisumu City along the Kisumu-Kakamega highway.
