Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka has said the Jubilee government is ready to tackle NASA in the general election, saying given that they fronted the 2013 presidential candidate and his running mate for the second time running, the Jubilee side is assured of a win.
Addressing mourners at a funeral of the late Stanley Cherry Chemayiek in Kaptama, Lusaka said the Jubilee brigade is well set for the general election saying from the track records set during this first term in office many achievements have been reached so far.
He lashed at the representatives from Western Kenya in the commitTee which was tasked to come up with recommendations for identifying a running mate saying Kakamega senator Dr Bonny Khalwale, Tongaren MP Dr David Eseli and Kiminini MP Dr Chris Wamalwa didn’t do enough to come up with a flagbearer from the Western region.
However, he called upon residents to support the Jubilee government in the forthcoming general election saying the NASA coalition lacks the ability to lead this country in the right direction as they are only interested in sharing political posts.
Governor Lusaka also called upon the Jubilee election board to ensure the petitions are tackled in an amicable way so that strong candidates are granted the certificates in readiness for the general election saying the competitors are from other parties.
He said it will be unfortunate if weak candidates who used shortcut means to be nominated are given certificates in various positions saying they will only end up losing the seats in the general election which he says will be to the party’s disadvantage.
His sentiments were echoed by Trans Nzoia women representative Janet Nangabo who called upon Mt Elgon residents to support the Jubilee government in the forthcoming general election saying it has the will and ability to perform for the advancement of the lives of Kenyans.
