The Jubilee party primaries in Mt. Elgon constituency have been postponed to Wednesday due to a lack of ballot papers. The decision was made after wide consultations with all involved. Jubilee party NEB Chairman Andrew Musangi confirmed that wide consultations were done, “Voting in Mt Elgon constituency has been postponed to tomorrow after consultations with all involved.”
Moreover, the Jubilee regional coordinator on the ground said there were small hitches, citing that part of the reason was also that they hadn’t conducted the exercise in the region before, as it was in other areas. The returning officer said that there were logistical challenges that faced the exercise.
The Jubilee party primaries started slowly, with challenges also experienced in Bungoma town, in Moi Primary School voting centre. Voters arrived early at the voting station but the voting material didn’t arrive on time. In Sirisia, the exercise started late too, with some aspirants missing their pictures on the ballot papers.
