Trans Nzoia County. Two members of the national assembly from Trans Nzoia County are the latest to lose their seats in the ongoing Jubilee party primaries that were held yesterday and results still trickling in.
Saboti legislator David Wafula Lazaro lost to his 2013 polls rival Jonas Kuko in a hotly contested nomination exercise that saw Kuko garner 8842 votes against Wafula’s 7285.
Wafula who was elected for the first time to parliament in the 2013 polls lost to KUko with a margin of over 1500 votes to his rival who had at the beginning of this term of parliament lost a petition that he had filed at the Kitale high court to dispute Wafula’s victory in 2013 polls.
Kuko will now face ODM’s Caleb Amisi, Federal Party’s Robert Makona and whoever will win the Ford Kenya ticket between Wafula Mutacho, Sakari Nangulu, Ken Simiyu and Joseph Pepela who are all battling for the Ford Kenya’s ticket that shall have their fate decided this Friday when they repeat the nomination exercise after it was cancelled midway on Monday due to some shortcomings experienced.
In Cherangany the incumbent Wesley Korir who was elected on an independent ticket in 2013 after ousting his bitter rival and predecessor Joshua Kutuny has been trounced by Kutuny again in a sweet revenge that saw Kutuny win with a big margin by garnering 14,396 votes against the incumbent’s 8058 votes.
Korir after being elected on an independent ticket along the way decided to work with the ruling Jubilee coalition before later joining the Jubilee party.
Kutuny will now face Patrick Simiyu of Ford Kenya among other candidates nominated by other parties to vie for the seat on their respective party tickets such as ANC, KANU and others cleared to vie in the constituency.
Endebes MP Dr. Robert Pukose won the Jubilee ticket after garnering 9180 votes against his rival Alwin Sasia’s 6901 votes in a hotly contested nomination that saw the two trade accusations and blames against each other during the campaigns in the run to the primaries.

Pukose who will now defend his seat in the August polls will face Ford Kenya’s Paul Moiben and Bishop Peter Wekesa of ODM among other candidates.
In Kiminini Dr. Julius Mbagaya won the Jubilee seat by getting 6361 votes against his main rival Cosmas Stephen Nabungolo who got 2654 votes hence Mbagaya will now face the incumbent Dr. Chris Wamalwa and other candidates fronted by other parties especially the Federal party of Kenya, ANC and KANU among other candidates.
In Kwanza the tallying is still going on as we go to press whereby the race is tightly contested between Abraham Sing’oei and Joshua Werunga an ally of Water cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa.
Sing’oei is also an ally of deputy president William Ruto and is also currently the legal advisor in the DP’s office.
Whoever wins will face the incumbent Ferdinand Wanyonyi who will defend his seat on a Ford Kenya ticket and other candidates interested in the seat.
County seats such as the senator, governor and woman representatives have not had their results announced at the Kitale Showground hall where the county tallying centre is hosted.
The woman representative seat is hotly contested between the incumbent Janet Nangabo, Eunice Karanja and Dorothy Cherop and two others who are trailing the three with Nangabo enjoying an early lead.
The senatorial seat is between Dr. Michael Mbito, Peter Chemuigut, Michael Kitiyo and Lewis Ndombi with two others.
The governor’s seat is being played between Maurice Kakai Bisau, Bethwel Kirior and Festus Mukoya.
