The Judicial Service Commission has shortlisted candidates for the positions of the Judge of the Court of Appeal, following an initial advertisement of eleven posts for the position on February 22nd this year. 35 candidates have been shortlisted, out of 113 applications received. Part of the shortlisted candidates the list from Western region is High Court Judge Justice Muchelule Aggrey Otsyula, whose interview is slated for 10th June. Also on the list is Professor Sifuna Nixon Wanyama who is set to be interviewed for the position on 17th June, with both interviews conducted by the JSC at the Commission’s secretariat boardroom at the Reinsurance Plaza in Nairobi.
The position of Judges of the Environment and Land Court also drew substantial interest, with 63 candidate shortlisted out of 229 who applied. Shortlisted candidates from Western include Siundu Samuel Soita, Shitubi Susan Musumba Mukabi, Wanyonyi Walter John, with the interviews for the position slated for between 15th July to 9th August this year. Ten posts for the post of the Judges of the Employment and Labour Relations Court were also advertised by the JSC on 22nd February and 160 applications were received. 29 candidates have been shortlisted, including Wasike Rose Murenga Nekesa, Wasike Valentine Wandera. The interviews for this posts will be done from 6th to 14th August.
The JSC has urged members of the public to avail any information of interest they have concerning the shortlisted candidates in all the positions in writing and that any member of the public with the said information can be interviewed but the information will remain private.
