Hundreds of West Media fans turned up during the burial of Desterio Lumbe a member of Sichukuchu West FM salaams club who is also a father to chairman of Mumbo FM Salaams clubs of Navakholo and Malava constituencies in Kaunda village, Bunyala West ward in Navakholo constituency, Kakamega County.
Led by the chairperson of Navakholo West FM Salaams clubs Nicholas Mapesa they mourned Mzee Desterio of 69 years as a member who was active in his salaams group and participated fully in all projects undertaken by the group.
“Mzee Lumbe had a lot of sacrifice for this club and supported all what our salaams club does, I urge all salaams clubs to start coming together again and continue with the projects we had started before Corona Virus hit the country, we would like to thank all fans who came to stand with the family of Lumbe and let us continue working as one team the way we have demonstrated our unity in this funeral,” urged Mapesa
Atanas Otunge alias Mayor wa Kaunda, the late’s son who is a chairperson of Mumbo FM salaams clubs applauded the unity of West Media Company and fans that enabled him to give his dad a decent send off.
“Am very much grateful for all salaams clubs and West Media for standing with me during this time of grief, you have made me feel great, your stepping here has made me get applications from new groups that want to join West Media family, let us continue standing together and put a smile to one of us when bereaved the way you have done for me,” asserted Otunge
West Media Company was represented by Nanjala Masinde , Sheldon Asakhulu and Felix Okubasu who thanked fans that turned up to stand with the family of the late and urged listeners who are not in salaams groups to join so that they can benefit from different projects.
