It was jubilation after Kamukuywa-Ndambasi, a group formed by business women who sell groceries at Kamukuywa market were given a 1.8 million truck acquired on loan and guaranteed by Kimilili MP Suleiman Kasuti Murunga to ease transportation of their products.
Speaking after officially handing over the truck to them, Murunga said the group approached him for assistance to purchase a truck of their own after previously spending a lot of money to hire lorries for transportation.
“Now the ball is in your court, you have to ensure you work extra hard to repay the loan on time and also have a savings account that will be able to accumulate more money to purchase another lorry so as to expand your business further,” he said.

The MP said the group’s challenge will be partly sorted after acquiring the truck saying they always travel to far places such as Nyeri , Marikiti and even Mt Elgon to get fresh groceries for their business.
“Now that they have been empowered they will be able to comfortably deliver their goods on time and grow their market reach”.he further stated
He further challenged other groups within Kimilili constituency to also think outside the box by ensuring they embrace technology in whatever business they are pursuing saying some of them like motorbike riding will not plough back enough profit to them since it has been overflooded.

Kimilili Catholic Church priest Fr. John Sulumeti after blessing the truck called upon the group members to be diligent and committed towards their duties saying they have to work in cooperation to ensure the truck is beneficial to their business.
Kamukuywa-Ndambasi chair lady Metrine Nabutola thanked the MP for his efforts in empowering the women to acquire the truck saying it will ease their transportation cost as well as boost their business.
She further called upon other groups to have plans in place of acquiring assets to expand their businesses saying they do not have to always depend on one projects as a source of income saying leaders have to also assist them expand their businesses.
