Kapsabet Boys High School in Nandi is an Institution which boasts of its rich, unique leadership history for many years.
The Institution is a giant in scaling the heights of education through leadership skills thus has produced two presidents and many more leaders serving in different capacities so far.
The School Chief Principal Mr. Kipchumba Maiyo told West Media that the school is proud of its achievements in terms of leadership, the immediate being the President elect Dr. William Samoei Ruto who is the alumni of the school.
“As Kapsabet Boys high school fraternity and the community at large, we want to laud the President elect Dr. Ruto for his victory and we are very much proud of him.” Kipchumba added.
He revealed that Dr. Ruto joined the Institution in 1985 at form 5 level and he slept in cube five thus the number five is very significant in his history. He was also a member of the Christian Union where he received spiritual nourishments.
The Chief Principal cited that it was in this school that the President elect excelled under the Motto “Strive to Excel” through his hard work and determination.
The school is the source of giant leaders including the late President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi who ruled for the longest period of twenty four years in Kenyan history and remained the long serving President in Africa.
Others include the former Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey, former Agriculture Minister Kipruto Arap Kirwa, former Kenya Army Commander Augustine Cheruiyot and the CAS Dr. Kipsang Belio who is the former PS for education among other leaders.
Kapsabet Boys High School was founded in the year 1925 as part of the government African Schools and by then was called Government African School Kapsabet.
The Provincial School was elevated to a National level for its stunning performance and also for being the power house in athletics and basketball.
To date the school is one of the giant schools countrywide that has been producing good results persistently and leadership skills throughout.
