Two giant schools in Nandi, Kapsabet Boys and Kapsabet Girls are among the top hundred schools ranked nationally after recording good results in the just-released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
Kapsabet Boys School, which is a national school emerged in position eight with a performance index of 67.402 producing the best candidate, Karisa Birya Suleiman, who was position 93 in the top hundred with the entry of 311 registered candidates.
Three candidates managed to score three plain As followed by 66 A- minuses, 19 B+ pluses, 58 B plains, 54 B- minuses, 17 C+ pluses, 11 C- minuses and one D+ plus.
Kapsabet Girls High School, which is an extra County school, also performed well by clinching position 76 nationally in the top hundred ranked schools with a performance index of 55.725 with an entry of 204 registered candidates.
By Wednesday evening, the school had managed to download the results of eleven candidates who scored A-minuses, and on Thursday more results were being expected.
Speaking to West Media Limited, the principals of the two schools, Mr Kipchumba Maiyo of Kapsabet Boys and Mrs Kisang of Kapsabet girls were thankful to God for the results and applauded the efforts made by parents, students, and teachers, who worked hard to ensure candidates performed admirably.
They cited that it is through teamwork and good working relationships between the teaching fraternity, students and parents together with the school management that good results were attained.
