Webuye East Martin Pepela Wanyonyi today marked a significant milestone in empowering the youth of his constituency with the launch of the first batch of full scholarship beneficiaries under the CDF/KCB Foundation partnership.
As part of the broader initiative, KCB Foundation has partnered with the Webuye East Constituency to empower 100 youth through the 2Jiajiri program. The program is designed to provide the youth with the skills and resources needed to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.
The scholarship beneficiaries will embark on courses at Matili Technical Institute in various fields, including Fashion and Design, Building and Construction, and Food and Beverage. These courses are aimed at equipping the students with practical skills and accredited certificates that will open doors to endless career opportunities.
“The youth are the future of our nation, and we must invest in them today for a brighter tomorrow. By partnering with institutions like KCB Foundation, we are giving our young people the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world,” said Hon. Wanyonyi during the commissioning ceremony.
The KCB Foundation’s contribution, along with the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), will not only provide educational opportunities but also enhance employment prospects by offering relevant skills training. Webuye East legislator emphasized his commitment to seeking additional partnerships with organizations to ensure no son or daughter from Webuye East is left behind.
“We are proud to partner with the KCB Foundation on this noble initiative. Their support plays a crucial role in giving our youth a chance at brighter futures. We look forward to more collaborations that will continue to empower our community,” added the area MP.
This partnership exemplifies a shared vision to support youth empowerment and contribute to local development. The scholarship beneficiaries, along with the 2Jiajiri initiative, will now have the chance to gain industry-recognized skills, which are expected to help them build sustainable careers and make meaningful contributions to the growth of Webuye East and the wider region.
