The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam is set to kick off tomorrow countrywide and rehearsals are ongoing well in Nandi County. Exam candidates have been taken through the formalities and preparations. West Media visited some schools including Namgoi, Kapsabet boys and Nandi primary schools to witness the rehearsal exercise and the headteachers in the schools affirmed that they are ready for the examination, hoping for the best outcome.
Some of the candidates who spoke to West FM revealed that they are ready to tackle the exams and that they’re simply waiting for the d-day.
Nandi County Director of Education Mr. Willy Machocho confirmed that all the preparations have been accomplished and everything is in order.
He said that exam paper containers will be opened by 5.30 am and urged all exam centre managers to keep time.
Nandi County Commissioner Mr. Olaka Kutswa confirmed that preparations including the security status, are in order and measures have been set up to ensure all areas in the County are easily accessed. A total of 26,465 KCPE candidates-13,244 girls and 13,221 boys-will tackle the exams, in 825 exam centers across Nandi.
