More than 20,000 candidates are sitting for their KCSE exams in Trans Nzoia County, with some schools registering some challenges. At Saboti Muroki Secondary School, the exam papers arrived later than expected due to the poor state of roads, meaning the exam started late.
At St Teresa’s Girls Secondary School in Kiminini Sub County, the school headmistress noted the lack of a functional laboratory, forcing the school management to improvise and set up a hall as the centre for practicals. She, however, expressed optimism that they’ll score better results this year, and pass last year’s 5.7 mean score, adding that the 223 candidates are well prepared.
At St Joseph’s Boys national School in Saboti Sub County all was
set and examinations kicked off amicably without any challenges. The school Principal Wilson Yego said there were no hitches witnessed, with all 590 candidates present on time. He expressed his optimism that they’ll perform well this year.
He said there was a good working relationship among the parents, the
church and teachers to make sure that the students are well prepared and he lauded the parents for helping to instill a disciplined attitude in the candidates as well as clearing the fee arrears on time.
At Kitale’s St Anthony’s Boys school, the exams also started without any hitches. According to the school Principal Victor Makanda all was set and the candidates were well prepared. “We are confident for the best results as we prepared our candidates well. All are set and we’ll be top of the County, like last year,” said the Principal.
